Advanced Energy Railway DC-DC PCB Mount

Certified Power Conversion For Rolling Stock And Rail Infrastructure

Railway electronics operate under extreme electrical, thermal, and mechanical stress. Voltage fluctuations, vibration, temperature cycles, and strict safety standards are part of daily operation. Advanced Energy’s Railway DC-DC PCB-mount converters are engineered specifically to meet these challenges - delivering stable, isolated, and highly efficient power for onboard railway systems.

Built on the proven ERM converter platform, these DC-DC modules combine high efficiency with railway-grade robustness in compact PCB-mount formats.

Designed For Railway Standards And Harsh Environments

Advanced Energy’s railway DC-DC converters are fully qualified for demanding rail applications:

  • Certified to EN 50155 and EN 50121-3-2 for railway electronics
  • Tested to EN 61373 for vibration and thermal shock
  • Reinforced insulation for high-voltage inputs and low-voltage outputs
  • High EMC immunity for electrically noisy environments
  • Encapsulated construction with metal baseplate, resistant to humidity and contaminants

The isolated baseplate enables cold-wall mounting or optional heat-sink integration, ensuring reliable thermal performance even in sealed enclosures.

High Efficiency In Compact PCB-Mount Designs

With efficiencies of up to 92%, Advanced Energy’s railway DC-DC converters reduce thermal losses and simplify system cooling. Wide input voltage ranges accommodate common railway supply rails, while compact PCB-mount formats support space-constrained designs inside rolling stock equipment.

These characteristics make the converters well suited for long service life and maintenance-friendly system architectures.
