Cincon Thermal & Integration Accessories

Control Heat. Improve Reliability. Simplify Integration.

Power density continues to increase - but thermal constraints remain one of the most common causes of system instability and reduced lifetime.

Many designs fail not because of the converter itself, but because heat is not properly managed or integration is not optimized.

Cincon thermal and integration accessories address this gap directly. They are designed to enhance thermal performance, reduce system stress, and simplify integration of DC/DC converters in demanding environments.

Available through FORTEC Switzerland, these accessories support stable operation and predictable system behavior.

Thermal Management Is Not Optional

DC/DC converters generate heat during operation. Without proper thermal management, this leads to:

  • reduced efficiency
  • thermal shutdown risks
  • shortened component lifetime
  • unstable system performance

Cincon heatsinks are engineered to ensure efficient heat dissipation under real operating conditions, helping maintain performance across varying loads and environments.

Optimized Heatsinks for DC/DC Converter Packages

Cincon offers a wide range of heatsinks specifically designed for standard DC/DC converter formats, including:

  • quarter brick
  • half brick
  • full brick
  • eighth brick
  • baseplate packages

Constructed from aluminum AL6063, these heatsinks provide high thermal conductivity and are optimized for converter mounting geometries.

Key characteristics include:

  • optimized fin structures for improved airflow
  • compatibility with natural convection and forced airflow conditions
  • black anodized surface for enhanced heat radiation
  • multiple mounting options depending on application requirements

The result is a predictable thermal profile and improved system reliability.

Designed for Real Operating Conditions

Thermal performance is not static - it depends on airflow, mounting, and system layout.

Cincon heatsinks are characterized across different cooling conditions, including:

  • natural convection
  • forced airflow (e.g. 100–400 LFM)

This allows engineers to evaluate thermal resistance under realistic scenarios and design accordingly.

For example, thermal resistance values decrease significantly with airflow, enabling higher power operation in compact systems.

Integration Made Simple

Beyond thermal management, system integration is another critical factor in power design.

Cincon accessories support easy and structured integration through:

  • predefined mounting hardware options
  • compatible thermal pads for efficient heat transfer
  • mechanical designs aligned with industry-standard footprints

This reduces engineering effort and ensures consistent assembly quality across projects.

Magnetic Components for EMI Control

In addition to heatsinks, Cincon provides magnetic components such as common mode chokes, supporting EMI reduction directly at the system level.

These components are designed to:

  • suppress common-mode noise in power lines
  • improve EMC behavior of switching power supplies
  • stabilize system operation in electrically noisy environments

Typical specifications include:

  • inductance values up to several mH
  • isolation testing up to 600 Vac
  • rated currents depending on model series

This makes them suitable for a wide range of industrial and embedded applications.

Supporting Reliable Power System Design

Thermal and EMI challenges are often addressed too late - when redesign becomes costly.

By integrating heatsinks and magnetic components early, developers can:

  • prevent overheating issues
  • improve EMC performance
  • reduce redesign cycles
  • ensure long-term system stability

Cincon accessories enable a more controlled and reliable design process from the beginning.
