The ADH series converts 800 V DC input to 50 V DC output, operating at multi-MHz switching frequency. The key performance figures reflect the demands of high-density AI rack environments:
- Peak power efficiency of 98.2%
- Up to 8 kW peak power output in a standard half-brick package
- 6 kW full load continuous output power
- Peak power density exceeding 2,700 W/in³
- Full load power density exceeding 2,000 W/in³
This combination of efficiency and power density in a half-brick form factor is designed to enable the kind of power scaling that megawatt-capable AI server racks require - without a proportional increase in converter footprint or thermal load.
Thermal Management and Safety for Hazardous Voltage Operation
Operating at 800 V DC input places specific demands on both thermal management and electrical safety. The ADH series addresses both:
- Designed for liquid-cooled baseplate integration for optimised thermal management in high-density rack environments
- Incorporates the safety-critical insulation required for systems operating at hazardous input voltage levels
- Standard half-brick form factor enables parallel connection of modules for significant power scaling without custom mechanical integration
A Complete 800 V DC Power Solution
The ADH series is designed to work as part of an integrated 800 V DC power chain. Combined with Advanced Energy's NDQ series ultra-efficient 50 V to 12 V DC non-isolated bus converters (NIBC) and the newly developed Hot Swap Control (HSC) module - which manages inrush current and provides additional protection functions - the complete solution covers the full conversion path from 800 V DC rack input down to the load voltages required by AI server components.
This end-to-end approach simplifies the system architecture for data centre designers working to qualify and deploy 800 V DC infrastructure at scale.
