Cincon introduces the CQM60W Series, a 60 W medical-grade DC/DC converter designed for Type CF (Cardiac Floating) applied parts and other safety-critical medical applications. Housed in an industry-standard quarter-brick format, the CQM60W combines compact design with reinforced isolation and high efficiency to meet the stringent demands of modern medical electronics.
Certified Safety for Medical Applications
A key feature of the CQM60W Series is its reinforced 5000 Vac input-to-output isolation, ensuring full compliance with:
- IEC / UL 60601-1, 3rd Edition
- 2 × MOPP (Means of Patient Protection)
- EN 60601-1-2 (EMC for medical environments)
With an ultra-low touch leakage current below 4.5 µA, the CQM60W is specifically optimized for Type CF medical equipment, where maximum patient protection is mandatory.
Flexible Input and Output Configuration
To support a wide range of medical system architectures, the CQM60W Series offers:
- 4:1 input voltage range: 9–36 Vdc
- Single outputs: 5 V, 12 V, 15 V, 24 V
- Dual outputs: ±12 V, ±15 V
This flexibility simplifies system design and supports multiple medical subsystems with a single converter platform.
High Efficiency and Robust Performance
With efficiency levels of up to 93.5%, the CQM60W Series minimizes thermal stress in compact and sealed medical enclosures. Fast system response is ensured by a typical start-up time of 15 ms, supporting reliable power sequencing.
Designed for demanding environments, the converter operates across a wide range of conditions:
- Operating temperature: –40 °C to +105 °C
- Altitude: up to 5000 m

- Over-temperature protection (OTP)
- Over-current protection (OCP)
- Over-voltage protection (OVP)
- Under-voltage lockout (UVLO)
