High-Efficiency MEP-500A Open Frame Power Supply for Type BF Medical Devices
FORTEC Switzerland presents the newest addition to Delta’s MEP series: the MEP-500A, a high-efficiency 500 W medical-grade power supply designed for space-limited medical applications such as IVD equipment, operating beds, endoscopy systems, ultrasound devices, and ventilators.
Engineered for performance and compactness, the MEP-500A achieves up to 25.64 W/in³ power density and delivers 95% efficiency in a small 3” x 5” open frame format. It supports output voltages of 12 V, 18 V, 24 V, or 48 V, ensuring versatility across different device requirements. Operating reliably between -30°C and +85°C, the power supply provides 300 W with convection cooling and up to 500 W with fan cooling.
The MEP-500A enhances system integration through remote on/off control, voltage trimming, and remote sensing to compensate for cable voltage drops. It also includes a 5 V / 2 A standby output, optimizing power efficiency and diagnostics in smart systems.
Designed for Type BF medical applications, the power supply features 2 x MOPP isolation and meets stringent international safety standards (IEC/EN/UL for medical, ITE, and household devices). With Class B EMI compliance, it ensures minimal interference with sensitive electronics.
