EDAC Power ES23200 Series, 3,200 W CRPS Module for Servers, HPC, and Data Centre Infrastructure

3,200 W in a CRPS Form Factor with 80 PLUS Titanium Efficiency and N+M Intelligent Redundancy

High-density server racks, HPC clusters, and enterprise storage systems place specific demands on power supply modules: maximum output power within the smallest possible mechanical footprint, efficiency high enough to reduce operating costs at continuous load, and a redundancy architecture that keeps systems running through individual module failures without manual intervention.

The EDAC Power ES23200 Series is built to meet all three requirements within the standard CRPS (Common Redundant Power Supply) module form factor. Delivering up to 3,200 W from a 185 mm × 73.5 mm × 40 mm enclosure, it achieves 80 PLUS Titanium efficiency, supports N+M intelligent redundancy with up to four modules, and integrates PMBus digital communication with 256-Byte EEPROM for complete system-level power management. FORTEC Switzerland offers the ES23200 Series as part of its EDAC Power portfolio.

Wide Input Range for Global Deployment

The ES23200 Series accepts a wide AC input of 100-240 VAC and also supports DC input from 180-320 VDC, covering all standard global single-phase grid voltages as well as DC-powered data centre architectures. This dual AC/DC input capability eliminates the need for regional product variants and simplifies global infrastructure deployments where both AC and DC power distribution architectures may be in use.

80 PLUS Titanium Efficiency: Reducing Operating and Cooling Costs

The 80 PLUS Titanium rating represents the highest standard efficiency tier for server power supplies. At the continuous, high-load operating conditions typical of data centre and HPC environments, Titanium-level efficiency directly reduces the electrical energy consumed per watt of compute output, lowering both electricity costs and the heat generated within the rack. For operators running large numbers of servers continuously, the cumulative energy saving over a deployment lifecycle is substantial, and the reduction in cooling load extends the benefit further.

Output Power Configurations

The ES23200 Series covers four output power levels within the same CRPS module platform, matched to different input voltage ranges:

  • 1,200 W at 100-127 VAC
  • 2,800 W at 180-210 VAC or 180-210 VDC
  • 3,000 W at 210-220 VAC or 210-220 VDC
  • 3,200 W at 220-240 VAC or 220-320 VDC

All models provide a 12 V main output with a 12 VSB standby output. A 36 W auxiliary standby configuration is also available for system housekeeping functions.

N+M Intelligent Redundancy with Active Current Sharing

The ES23200 Series supports parallel operation with active current sharing, ensuring that load is distributed evenly across all active modules in a multi-module configuration. N+M intelligent redundancy (where N+M ≤ 4) means that one or more spare modules remain available to take over immediately if an active module fails, maintaining uninterrupted system operation without requiring a manual intervention or system restart.

This architecture is the standard approach for enterprise-class servers, storage systems, and network communication equipment where downtime has direct operational and commercial consequences.

PMBus Communication and 256-Byte EEPROM

The ES23200 integrates I²C communication with PMBus protocol support, enabling real-time monitoring of power status, output voltage, current, temperature, and fault conditions from the host system management controller. The built-in 256-Byte EEPROM supports parameter configuration, operational data logging, and maintenance record storage, simplifying fleet management and service procedures across large deployments.

Comprehensive Protection and System Intelligence

A full set of output protection functions operates automatically to safeguard both the power module and the connected load: short-circuit protection (V1 latch, Vsb auto-recovery), overvoltage protection (V1 latch, Vsb auto-recovery), overcurrent protection (V1 latch, Vsb auto-recovery), undervoltage protection, and overtemperature protection (auto-recovery). Dual LED status indicators provide real-time visual fault indication at the module level, reducing the time required to identify and isolate a failed module during maintenance.
