COSEL HFA Series - 3,500 W Three-Phase AC/DC Power Supply in 1U Rack Format
High Power, Low Profile: 3.5 kW from a Three-Phase Supply in a Single Rack Unit
Industrial systems requiring kilowatt-level DC power from a three-phase AC supply face a consistent set of integration challenges: the power supply must fit within standard rack infrastructure, operate reliably over a wide input voltage range, and support the parallel and redundancy configurations that high-availability systems demand.
The COSEL HFA Series – specifically the HFA3500TF model – addresses all of these requirements within a single 1U rack-mounted enclosure. Delivering 3,500 W of regulated DC output from a three-phase input range of 180-528 V AC, it combines exceptional power density with a comprehensive feature set for demanding industrial, semiconductor, and infrastructure applications.
3,500 W in a 41 mm High, 19-Inch Rack Package
The HFA3500TF measures just 110 mm × 41 mm × 468 mm, occupying less than a single 1U slot in a standard 19-inch rack. At 3,500 W continuous output, this represents a significant power density achievement for a convection-plus-fan cooled, fully enclosed rack-mount power supply.
The three-phase full-range AC input of 180–528 V AC covers the complete spectrum of international three-phase grid voltages – from 200 V systems in Asia and the Americas to 400 V European installations and high-voltage 480 V industrial supplies - without any input switching or reconfiguration.
Wide Output Voltage Range for Diverse Load Requirements
The HFA3500TF is available in six output voltage configurations, allowing the same platform to serve a broad range of load requirements:
- 48 V / 73 A (3,504 W)
- 65 V / 54 A (3,510 W)
- 90 V / 39 A (3,510 W)
- 130 V / 27 A (3,510 W)
- 200 V / 17.5 A (3,500 W)
- 300 V / 11.7 A (3,510 W)
Output voltage is adjustable within each model's specified trim range, and a built-in 12 V / 1 A auxiliary output provides a dedicated supply for control and monitoring circuits without requiring a separate auxiliary power source.
System Integration Features
The HFA3500TF is designed for deployment in multi-unit system configurations with comprehensive built-in integration capabilities:
- Parallel operation and N+1 redundancy operation supported, enabling scalable system power and high-availability configurations without external combining hardware
- Built-in ORing MOSFET eliminates the need for external diodes in redundant supply arrangements
- Built-in alarm output for system-level fault monitoring and remote indication
- Remote On/Off function available as an option (positive logic control)
- Optional MODBUS interface (I4 option) for digital communication and monitoring within industrial control networks
- Low leakage current option (G option) available for installations with earth leakage constraints
- SEMI F47 compliance for voltage sag immunity in semiconductor manufacturing equipment
Operating Conditions and Safety Approvals
The HFA3500TF operates across an ambient temperature range of -10 °C to +70 °C at 20–90% relative humidity (non-condensing), with forced cooling provided by an internal fan.
Safety approvals cover UL 62368-1, C-UL (equivalent to CAN/CSA-C22.2 No. 62368-1), and EN 62368-1, providing the certification basis for deployment in industrial, IT, and audio/video equipment across North American and European markets.
Target Applications
The combination of 3,500 W output, three-phase full-range input, 1U rack format, parallel and redundancy capability, and SEMI F47 compliance makes the HFA3500TF well suited for:
- Semiconductor manufacturing and process equipment
- Industrial automation and factory infrastructure
- Laser systems and high-power test equipment
- Data centre and telecommunications infrastructure
- Broadcast and professional AV systems requiring high DC bus power
- Renewable energy and energy storage system integration
